Hypebomb Records Presents: Pressure

K-Rock Tha Fantom, one-third of San Diego hip hop group, Far From Ya Average, and a solo artist in his own right, displays his "outside the box" approach to music once again as he teams up with Lumivore singer J-2 for a journey into alternative trip-hop with FANTOMOPRA. Wanting to branch out into a whole new musical landscape, K-Rock Tha Fantom, who was a huge fan of J-2's ex-band, The Suicide Chords, contacted the soulful metal singer, who also expressed his wish to try something new. After a few brainstorming sessions, their chemistry and similarities brought on an explosion of creativity and J-2 coined the project, FANTOMOPRA.

Rapper and Producer, Kenneth Erwin, hails from San Diego, CA. This two-time San Diego Music Award nominated artist began his musical journey as a producer and MC for hip hop supergroup, Far From Ya Average, and continued as solo artist, K-Rock Tha Fantom. He has also dabbled in the metal genre as Dismembered Constellations, in a collaboration with Abusement Park guitarist Hector Perez.

Singer and Producer, Jason Edwards (AKA J-2) is a self-taught vocalist from Oakland, CA. Jason has been the frontman for many notable San Diego bands including Born Tonight, The Suicide Chords, Big Goat and currently Lumivore. As a member of Suicide Chords, he received a nomination for 'Best Hard Rock Album" in 2013 at the San Diego Music Awards, features on SoundDiego and is responsible for creating the "Romantic metal" genre. Jason draws influences from 70's soul and a bevy of vocalists from Chino Moreno and Mike Patton to Sade.

"Pressure" is FANTOMOPRA flexing their muscles and showing what a rapper and a rock singer can do outside of their comfort zones in their respective genres. J-2's emotive vocals and atmospheric production and K-Rock Tha Fantom's trademark cadence blend seemlessly in your headphones creating a unique and satisfying experience.

"Portishead meets Incubus on "Pressure", the newest from FantomOpra. Heavy drums serve as the backdrop for psychedelic layers of vocals with overtones of melancholy. This track is a perfect compliment to the fall season." - DJ Pnutz of "Sounds From Beyond" Radio Show

lyrics

Realize
Without my glasses
I can’t see the wrinkles on her skin
It’s Dinner Time
Wife is wearing
Everything I see with naked eye

Tired of all of this pressure
This pressure
Pressuring causes a fracture
Tired of all of this pressure
Can't take much more pressure
And it breaks the skin
Tired of all of this pressure
This Pressure
Pop a new pill just to catch her
Tired of all of this pressure
Can't take much more pressure
Better than the bottle my friend

For every second erased
An hour seems so far away
In a minute I can change everything
Your beauty isn’t measured
By the time you spend on earth
I could never find her

Tired of all of this pressure
This pressure
Pressuring causes a fracture
Tired of all of this pressure
Can't take much more pressure
And it breaks the skin
Tired of all of this pressure
This Pressure
Pop a new pill just to catch her
Tired of all of this pressure
Can't take much more pressure
Better than the bottle my friend
Tired of all of this pressure

For every second in my....
For every second in my....

I'm tired of all of this pressure
It's pain but it's pleasure
I'm sane but I'm weathered
Pharmaceuticals
Light as a feather
On a tight rope we're tethered
With high hopes
Four letters
Love like death takes breath if severed
Day by day I say do better
I pray I do better
They say don't let her
Take your heart, take your soul
Take over control
But I sold my soul long ago
Don't feel like me no more
Don't know what's up or down
But my world keeps spinning round
My world keeps spinning round
My world keeps spinning around
My world keeps spinning around

Tired of all this pressure
This pressure
Tired of all this pressure
Can't take much more pressure
Tired of all this pressure
This pressure
Tired of all this pressure
Can't take much more pressure
