Hypebomb Records presents: Nearly God/Almost Human

Producer and MC, Kenneth Erwin AKA K-Rock Tha Fantom, of San Diego supergroup Far From Ya Average, brings his trademark cadence and thought provoking lyrics to his first solo outing "Nearly God/Almost Human". After his work on FFYA's "The Basement LP" and Def Shon's "Hypebomb University" both culminated in SDMA "Best Hip Hop Album" nominations, K-Rock Tha Fantom felt that it was time to venture out and create a project that was all his own. "Nearly God/Almost Human" is a blistering half hour of classic golden era hip hop, tackling issues of the day and digging deep into his own soul exposing his personal trials and tribulations for the listener. It's a darker and more introspective record, sharply contrasting with the pop influenced, superficial club tracks on today's hip hop charts. The album title refers to the feeling that an underground MC, whose dedicated to bars and delivery, can feel godlike behind the mic on stage or in the vocal booth when that punchline or two is really felt by those around you, but when the show is over, this feeling is replaced with a sometimes broken reality of real world problems as he or she returns back to earth. As with all of Far From Ya Average's releases, it is meant to be a journey. Grab your favorite headphones, close your eyes, and enjoy the ride.
